I Wanna Stay Explore The House

Home for Travelers Yogyakarta BnB

About the house...

A home for travelers right in the city center of Yogyakarta, in a quiet street. Categorized as a heritage house by the government due to its history. The vintage floor says it all. Back in the 70s, this house used to be an ice factory. And starting 9 December 2015, reopened as a home for travelers by bunch of crazy Indonesian travelers. The location itself is very convenient to explore the city center on foot or by bicycle. Tourist sites such as Sultan Palace, Water Castle Taman Sari, Museums, and many more are all within walking distance. Only three minutes walk to the famous Jalan Malioboro. Tugu Yogyakarta Train Station is only 1km away. And you can easily take taxi from Lempuyangan Train Station or Transjogja Bus from Adi Sucipto International Airport.

You have to know, this is not a hotel. This is home, our home and we are sharing it with you. Nothing fancy, no AC, no hot shower. But we have put many efforts to revamped the house to make it cozy and beautiful without losing its vintage look. We collected old furnitures and abandoned materials from the previous house owner and local surrounding areas and then by hand we recycled and reused all of the furniture by ourselves. We designed each furniture accordingly to our needs as a local and as a traveler. There are no specific rules in the house, other than be nice to each other and be nice to our lovely neighbours. Okay we lied a bit, we do have house rules that you need to follow.

And who are we? a bunch of Indonesian travelers who chose Yogyakarta as our base city. We regularly travel due to work and our passion. We work from home as a travel writer, a graphic designer and travel photographer. When you stay at our home, you will be able to have the access to our knowledge of Indonesia.

So how many rooms do we have?

In total we have three private rooms and one 8-beds dormitory. All rooms has no AC. Fan only. Shared Shower. When it's full house, there will be 14 travelers plus us the hosts sharing the common areas such as living room, kitchen, backyard garden, balcony upstairs, 3 showers and 2 toilets. Unlimited drinking water, tea, coffee provided. Free WiFi in all areas. Motorbike and bicycle rental are also available.

Tiara's room

This charming room is the biggest bed room in the house. The room blends the charm of the old and new, decorated in a way to make your stay comfortable.

Mariza's Room

The design is sleek and modern. Probably the simplest room in the house but still carefully designed to fit all traveler needs. Eye for detail and savoir-faire for living, which ensures your stay will be both beautiful and comfortably inviting.

Chupriit's Room

Chupriit's Room, is our favorite of all time. Even thou it's smaller than the other rooms, Chupriit's room has lots of love from us. The main feature of the room is the gorgeous pallet wall that took us a while to set up, lots of time and effort on this one because we made the pallet wall manually by hand one by one. Another favorite feature of the room is the work desk hand-made by Chupriit. This room is definitely a comfortable room for a couple to sleep in.

Other than the 3 private rooms, we also have 8 single beds in a spacious mixed dormitory room. No bunk beds. Each bed has its own locker, cabinet and power socket.
